I live in Cumbria so ride at Whinlatter mostly and this year i am going to Hamsterley forest over near Durham and over to Peebles and also been to Gisburn :)
Yeah i totally understand, it’s an expensive sport. But luckily you’ve got a decent bike, the trek fuel would be more than capable of riding most DH, maybe alter it a bit when you have the funding like wider bars, downhill stem and maybe a single chainring. You would definately be able to smash a mini dh with that bike! If i were you i’d just try and get your experienced friend to take you and you roadie friend riding because im sure she’ll get hooked. Wow lucky you, some stunning riding in Whinlatter. Your pretty set for doing some riding then, just drag your friends out! :L
